Free Woodworking Catalogs

Pick up a couple of these free woodworking catalogs and greatly increase your odds of being able to find the right tool or accessory at a decent price.

Amazon Tool Crib Catalog - Amazon.com has teamed up with the Tool Crib to offer what is probably the most comprehensive selection of woodworking tools out there. Their catalog features over 4000 products ranging from books to finishing supplies to hand tools to big irons saws, jointers, planes, and band saws. There's something in it for most anyone including contractors, woodworkers, hobbyists, and misc do-it-yourselfers.

Hartville Tool - Hartville has been in business since the early 1970's. They offer a number of specialty tool and hardware products, some of which they design themselves. In addition to their free woodworking supplies catalog, Hartville also offers some free downloadable desktop wallpaper images for several different screen resolutions.

Grizzly Industrial - Grizzly has been producing heavy duty woodworking machinery for over 20 years. They've grown steadily over that time to the point where their free catalog now has over 500 pages!  If you're in the market for band saws, table saws, jointers, milling machines and other heavy duty equipment, you should check out their offerings.

Klockit - Klockit has been the leading clock kit and clock parts supplier for over 30 years. They know clocks! Their free catalog includes clock movements, inserts and dials, clock faces, wood kits, cuckoo clocks, atomic clocks, grandfather clock accessories, and various gifts and gadgets.

LeeValley Tools - Lee Valley is a family-owned business that has been selling woodworking and gardening tools since 1978. A good chunk of their products are their own design, mostly sold as the Veritas Brand. They have a pretty good selection of shop tools, project kits, clamping fixtures, router tables, and other shop accessories.

Lie-Nielson Toolworks - Makers of heirloom quality tools since 1981. They make over 50 types of planes, saws, and spokeshaves made from top-quality materials like Ductile Iron and Manganese Bronze for castings and cryogenically treated A-2 Tool Steel for the blades. Not the cheapest tools but certainly some of the best.

Osborne Wood Products - As one of the leading suppliers of stock and custom wood turnings and table legs, Osborne Wood Products, Inc. has provided a unique service to furniture makers since 1979. If you're looking for a unique bun foot, dining table leg, or other custom turning, make sure you check out the selection in their catalog.

Penn State Industries - Free catalog featuring dust collection equipment, clamps, vises, grinding and sharpening tools, router bits, pen making supplies, saw blades, turning project kits, lathe accessories, and lots more.

Rockler.com  - Rockler is perhaps the most recognized woodworking supply company on the Internet. Their free woodworking and hardware catalog contains over 150 pages of top quality woodworking stuff including books, glues, finishing materials, project hardware, lumber, and tools. In terms of tools, their focus seems to be on small to medium sized tools, rather than the big iron items. Allow 1-2 weeks for the catalog to arrive.

Wood Carvers Supply - Free 80-ish page color catalog listing thousands of products for wood carving. Many of the listed products were developed exclusively for and only available from Wood Carvers Supply, Inc.  You'll find just about anything a woodcarver could possibly need in this fine catalog.

Woodcraft - Woodcraft is a well-established woodworking supplies company with a comprehensive collection of products that includes books, carving tools, marking and measuring tools, woodturning tools, project supplies, finishing materials, and oodles of hardware. You'll sometimes find products in Woodcraft's catalog that you won't find in Rockler's (and vice versa).
